Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday at Teacher Peach (458 Central Avenue) on Friday, March 1. Enjoy Dr. Seuss activities for young children, readings of Dr. Seuss books at 11:00 am, 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm and Thing 1 and Thing 2. Dr. Seuss books will be on sale during the event.
The Music Theatre Company (1850 Green Bay Road) will be hosting Christine Mild in Concert on Friday, March 1, at 8:00 pm. Christine Mild will perform a mix of pop, folk and musical theater songs. Tickets cost $15.
Posh Essentials (658 Central Avenue) will reopen on Friday, March 1, after getting an interior makeover! Posh will have a whole new look and new lines, just in time for Spring Break. The store is expanding and getting revamped to include swimwear from many new designers, such as LaBlanca, Shoshanna, L Space, Sea Folly, and Juicy Couture, Splendid intimates for younger girls, new resortwear, and loungewear and sportswear.
The Alliance welcomes D.H. Mattix, a new art gallery in Renaissance Place. D.H. Mattix will be having its grand opening celebration March 1 through March 3. Refreshments will be served.

Dancers with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will be holding a workshop in modern and contemporary dance and ballet at North Shore School of Dance (505 Laurel Avenue) on Monday, March 11, from 5:30 to 9:00 pm. Intermediate through advanced level dancers ages 12 and above are eligible to join this amazing opportunity. The workshop costs $135 in advance, $150 at the door.
Learn some dance moves and then share food, laughs and good times at Soul 2 Sole’s (799 Central Avenue) family fun night on Friday, March 15, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Adults will learn salsa dancing while the kids will pop and lock to cool hip hop music. The event costs $20 per family and includes food.
It’s March Madness at Campus Colors (599 Central Avenue). Campus Colors will have their annual NCAA Basketball Tournament March to the Madness sale, where the more you buy, the more you save. The Downtown Highland Park Alliance is a public-private partnership of the Highland Park CBD Property Owners Association, the City of Highland Park and the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce. The Alliance was founded in 2008 to enhance the economic vitality of Downtown Highland Park. The operations and promotions of the Alliance are funded by a Special Service Area commercial property tax currently authorized through 2013.
