Each week, Patch Pets features a dog and cat available for adoption from Heartland Animal Shelter.
Charlotte
Charlotte is such an amazing cat it’s hard to believe her life has been anything but easy. She was adopted as a kitten from Heartland, passed along to someone else when the family couldn’t care for her and eventually ended up in a high kill shelter before returning to Heartland (thanks to her microchip). Despite that, Charlotte is one of the most laid back and easy-going cats in the cat room and is friendly, outgoing, and gets along great with other cats. It’s not uncommon for her to hop into an open cage to say hi to another cat and her favorite way to relax is to stretch out on her back with her legs in the air and nap. This beautiful long-haired girl is around 3-years-old and should adapt quickly to a new home.
Cat Adoption Information - Heartland's cat adoption fee is $125 for kittens up to five months old ($200 for a pair) and $100 for cats and older kittens. Adoption fees cover up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, microchip, neuter/spay, a FIV/FeLuek test and a free vet exam within two weeks of adoption.
Khai
Khai is around 2 ½ years old and is a Thai Ridgeback who had lived with one family his whole life until his fortunes changed and he ended up at the shelter. He got along great with the three children (infant to 10 years old) in his original home and with cats while in foster car. Khai is very athletic and is a bit skiddish in unfamiliar situations, but does well when he becomes comfortable. He is a loving, beautiful dog that is crate trained and is looking for the right family to call his own.
Dog Adoption Information – Heartland’s adoption fee is $225 per dog and includes neuter, up-to-date vaccines, deworming and heartworm test. Puppy adoption fees are slightly higher.
