Each week, Patch Pets features a dog and cat available for adoption from Heartland Animal Shelter.
Disney
Disney's dreams are coming true in his new home.
Dog Adoption Information – Heartland's adoption fee is $225 per dog and includes neuter or spay, up-to-date vaccines, deworming and heartworm test. Puppy adoption fees are slightly higher.
FayFay
FayFay is a mix of tabby and calico and has beautiful, unusual markings. She is about 3 and a half years old and is looking for a home that will have a little patience with her to get comfortable in her new surroundings. She may be a bit skiddish when she is startled in a new environment, but don't let that hold you back when you are considering adopting her. FayFay is friendly and comes right up to people that visit the cat room and also loves cuddling and a nice lap. She has a slight handicap – a docked tail and she is missing part of her left rear foot – but that does not slow her down anyway. FayFay jumps and plays like any other kitty.
Cat Adoption Information - Heartland's cat adoption fee is $125 for kittens up to 5 months old ($200 for a pair) and $100 for cats and older kittens. Adoption fees cover up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, microchip, neuter/spay, a FIV/FeLuek test and a free vet exam within two weeks of adoption.
Shelter Information - Heartland Animal Shelter, at 2975 Milwaukee Ave. in Northbrook, is open from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
