Each week, Patch Pets features a dog and cat available for adoption from Heartland Animal Shelter. During November, many of Heartland’s older pets will be featured in honor of Adopt-A-Senior Pet month.
Guinness
Guinness has found a home.
Dog Adoption Information – Dog adoption fees are $225 and includes neuter, up-to-date vaccines, deworming and heartworm test. Puppy adoption fees are slightly higher and adoption fees for some special needs dogs are slightly lower.
Jiggy
Poise, glamour, and charm all rolled up into one dainty feline - that's Jiggy! She is a beautiful, seven-year-young, front paw declawed cat who lost her previous home due to changes in circumstances in her previous family. Jiggy is what her name implies – spunky, active and loyal who picks her favorite people then loves to hang out by their side.
Jiggy is also one of the office cats and routinely is the greeter for Heartland visitors and just loves to get and give attentions. Although she likes other felines, she’d do best in a home without dogs and children.
Cat Adoption Information - Heartland's cat adoption fee is $100 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, microchip, neuter/spay, a FIV/FeLuek test and a free vet exam within two weeks of adoption. Adoption fees for kittens less than five-months-old are slightly higher.
Heartland Animal Shelter, at 2975 Milwaukee Ave. in Northbrook, is open from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 12-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. More animals available for adoption can be found at www.heartlandanimalshelter.net; the shelter also has opportunities for volunteers in many different capacities.
