Patch Pets: Macx and Nala

Each week, Patch Pets features a dog and cat available for adoption from Heartland Animal Shelter. Santa stopped by Heartland this past weekend for pet photos with Santa and took time for some of the dogs and cats still looking to find a home.

Macx

Macx ended up at Heartland after he was hit by a car and his owner could no longer care for him. He’s since recovered from his injuries and is one of the more popular dogs among the volunteers. This sweet fellow is around seven-years-young and still has tons of Beagle curiosity to get him through the day. He’s letting Santa know that he’d like a family and a fenced in yard so that he stays out of traffic this time. Macx is friendly, loving, knows his doggy commands and wants nothing more than to live out his golden years in a forever home.

Dog Adoption Information – Heartland’s adoption fee is $225 per dog and includes neuter, up-to-date vaccines, deworming and heartworm test. Puppy adoption fees are slightly higher.

Nala

Nala has but one wish for Christmas, she’d love to find a permanent home. Nala is around four and has an A-Plus purr-sonality, loves to give kisses, loves to be brushed, really loves to play and gets along great with other cats. She was originally adopted as a kitten with three other Heartland residents – they all lost their home due to the economy last December and she is the only one still looking to be adopted. Nala is around four-years-old and she’s a petite doll who is known as the pixie of the cat room. She would love a second chance at happiness this holiday season. Learn more about Nala and our other wonderful cats looking for a home at www.heartlandanimalshelter.net/OutPets.html.

Cat Adoption Information - Heartland's cat adoption fee is $100 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, microchip, neuter/spay, a FIV/FeLuek test and a free vet exam within two weeks of adoption. Adoption fees for kittens less than five-months-old are slightly higher.
