10th District Air War Picking Up for Dold, Schneider
Schneider and Dold already have five commercials on television.
Commercials for Rep. Robert Dold (R-Kenilworth) and Democratic challenger Brad Schneider of Deerfield are starting to hit the airwaves in the 10th Congressional District as both candidates try to chart a course of independence and bipartisanship.
Nowhere in any of the five commercials aired so far—three by Dold and two from Schneider—is the word Democrat or Republican mentioned. Neither are the words progressive or tea party used in the spots in this race drawing national attention.
Earlier: Campaign Intensifies for Schneider, Dold
“What you see now is fighting and gridlock,” Schneider said in his first commercial. “I’ll work with everyone. Democrat, Republican as long as they have a good idea.”
Dold offers a similar message. “The politicians in Springfield and Washington are just standing around bickering,” Dold said in his third commercial. “To create jobs we need to work together.” View all five spots by clicking on the appropriate link with this story.
With the Nov. 6 election 41 days away, Patch readers will see a lot of those commercials with Dold already committed to spending more than $1.8 million and groups committed to Schneider more than that.
Patch is also doing its best to keep readers informed and up to date with new and background information about the 10th District Race, Dold and Schneider.

Gridlock is a feature, not a bug. When fewer instances of distortionary legislation pass through, it limits the damage the swinish Napoleons can inflict.

LOL - sorry, couldn't even read this when I saw two headlines on its page:
1) "The Schneider Shenanigans"
2) "Support Freedom" (in case some of you are against it)
I'm sure I'm missing out on a very informative and fact-based piece of writing that has no biases whatsoever, but I'll take my chances.

Here's the filing straight from the democrat horse's mouth. He's showing zero income for both businesses. How does that square with his self-description as a small businessman?

Based on his disclosures, there are one or two questions that need to be asked of Schneider.
Here's another good question for the small businessman:
What is your view on regulation and how it's used to crush small business by setting up artificial barriers for larger companies to retain market share?

Being an independent, I don't believe that Schneider himself is. He is a far left progressive and has proven himself to be so.

It's time to put the House back in control of the Democrats, so gridlock can end. The Freshman Class (Mr. Dold's) has been obstructing. As far as Mr. Dold, his endorsement by the Tea Party last time around pretty much seals the deal....for Brad Schneider.

Actually, it was Reid in the house obstructing most everything. The House would send bills over and he would just sit on them - not even letting them come up for a vote. The Senate hasn't even don't anything about a budget in THREE YEARS.

A vote for Democrat Brad Schneider is a vote for Nancy Pelozzi. Remember, House Speaker, Nancy Pelozzi (infamously) said, "We will have to pass the healthcare bill to find out what is in it." What is in it? --- 2700 pages of incomprehensible rules, mandates, regulations, and fines! So much for liberty; the healthcare "czar" (HHS Secretary) is writing the bill as we speak.

@ Guido McGinty: You say "the Democrat is showing zero income for both businesses. How does that square with his self-description as a small businessman?" Well...let's see small business owner Robert Dold: in 2010 his Rose Pest Solutions had $0 income even though they had $1.8 mil revenues only in the Northfield office. how did they manage to come up with expenses greater than that? (we know why...to pay $0 in income tax)...
And how can Dold be a "small business" owner when Rose Pest has offices in Illinois...and Kentucky...and Indiana...and Pennsylvania...and Michigan...and Ohio...Just because their websites claim "locally-owned" in their particular states, it doesn't make them so. Dold is flithy rich, and good for him, but don't act like you pay any taxes or that you own a little shop in the 10th District because you are misleading the voters.

- Salaries
- Benefits
- Rent
- Equipment
- Materials
- Asset Depreciation
Let's just look at salaries. Maybe there are 10 people, at $50,000 average a year, plus say $10,000/year for benefits, gets you to $600,000. One third of your "revenues" gone before even taking into account "raw materials" / supplies (pesticide, gloves, breathers, etc). Also, say they purchased vehicles. They are not allowed to take the full expense of the vehicle as a business expense when purchased, instead they must depreciate over a set number of years.

@ "un"rational thought: Salaries you say? The bastard Dold CUT salaries and stopped paying overtime. Pesticides cost about $3 per job (house) and there was not an explosion of new customers. Rest is $0 as he owns the building. Benefits are $0 except for his mom, Judy Dold who is "chairwoman" (sic). Materials, the sprayer actually is $225 and was bought in...maybe 1995 because they all were almost broke...ask the techs. Cars...same crap, 150.000 miles on them except the two new trucks bought for...vice president and office manager to go home and back 9they don't serve customers). Breathers...who ever used those? (by the way ask Dold when was last time he bought the filters necessary? 1983? :) You, and guido, speak as you never worked for Dold. I wish you never do...it will make a Democrat out of you, quick :) I tell you how they blew a $1.8 mil income in one year: salaries to him, to his mom, to his dad (some type of co-owner or something)...and voala, no money for pay increase, or pay (they cut the pay), or overtime, or decent trucks,. The bastards even started charging techs $22 per month for uniform cleaning even though we cleaned them at home, as always. Dold is a crook my friends, I worked for him, I know and you guys are idiots who will vote for him no matter what you hear about him.

guido you will vote, for Dold. Stop discouraging others to vote...are you afraid a larger turnout will dump Dold from office? It seems like. You are as independent as Dold :) I give you some homework: find Dave Smith, tech @ Rose Pest. After 25 years of service, the poor bastard had his pay reduced to "brand-new" tech...yeap, that's how Dold rewards those who gave him 25 years of service. Why? Money...he needed more money for himself...maybe for the lawyer to defend against the overtime lawsuit :) If Dold treats someone who made him money for 25 years with a pay cut all the way down at the start...how decent is that guy? Dold is a greedy maniac who deserves to be kicked out of office but you're too dense in the head to see it so go on, atack anyone exposing Dold while encouraging the rest not to vote :)

"you will vote"
That would require me to register. You have a better chance of hitting the lottery. I couldn't care less about the outcome in any election. Freedom will take a hit either way.
Voting is a violent act. You're picking your preferred flavor of coercion to inflict on your fellow citizens. I will not be a part of violence and I will not sanction the evil of two lessers.
Further, I often hear that you must vote in order to complain later. This is precisely backwards.
If you vote, you are sanctioning the process with an implicit agreement to live with the result.
If I don't sanction such shenanigans, I absolutely have the right to complain about the coercive violence that is inflicted upon me and my family.

@rational tht: Rose Pest, Dold's mom & pop company (not his), is using Talstar-the cheapest insecticide there is. Techs there have to beg for Termidor and for weeks "is not available"...and is not easy to get Tempo either...Rose doesn't order it...you don't have it so that's why you have techs sprinkling some granules around homes and calling it "ouside service!" Dold is trying to squize every dime posible by cuting all corners there are...product, service, paychecks. He is a joke of a businessman...a cheap crook, that's all. (oh...the new trucks were bought for Larry Hanks and Bill Hastings. they need to carry their worthless butts home in style while techs drive junks that make even homeless people spit with disgust. Dold is not only cheap, he is also an idiot for being penny wise and dollar stupid. Hanks is unlikely to have his contract renewed this Dec and Hastings got demoted a few months back...but they have new trucks :)

"I want to ask why Steve Sadin or any other Patch reporter has not investigated Brad Schneider's business record?"
Math is hard. When Schneider puts himself out as a small businessman with zero revenue in 2010 or 2011, no one wants to add those numbers together. It'll take all day.
