Boy Scouts Ban on Gays Could End Soon

NBC News reports the organization is considering ending the ban that has been in existence for decades.

The Boy Scouts of America ban on gay scouts and scout leaders could soon be over, according to NBC News.

The news source reports the group is actively considering ending the ban that has been in existence for decades. If the new policy goes through, the ban on gays would be erased from the Boy Scouts of America’s rules, allowing local organizations to decide for themselves if they want to allow gay scouts and leaders, NBC reports.

And it's a good thing, too!

A jolly and convivial scout is one who isn't paying proper heed to knife safety, campfire safety, pup-tent-assembly safety, secret-scout-handshake safety, skinny-dipping safety, or neckerchief-knot safety.

Scouts should always stay solemn and serious. Who knows -- that smiling good cheer might lead to an amputated finger, an undercooked frankfurter, an untended ember, or even an unkempt uniform! As I've always said -- a gay scout is an unsafe scout!

Ah, Oliver. Your posts are very classy and civilized, unlike many I read here. What would the Patch do without your witty, pithy and sane comments? Keep 'em coming!

This should not have been an issue in the first place! Glad that it is to be revised!

"I don’t care to belong to any club that will have me as a member". Groucho's quote seems especially relevant here. It's too late BSA - we know what kind of an organization you are.
