The following release was provided by the Village of Northbrook.
Kendal Maltas, who has served the Village of Northbrook as Management Analyst since 2009, was promoted to Assistant to the Village Manager effective August 15, 2012. She will be filling the position left vacant by Dan Kaup, who resigned to take a new position on July 27.
“Kendal has served Northbrook with professionalism and integrity for the past three years," Village Manager Richard Nahrstadt commented on Maltas' promotion. "I am confident that she will be successful in her new position and congratulate her on this well deserved promotion."
Kendal holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with a minor in Business Administration from Carthage College and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Northern Illinois University. Maltas is also a member of the Illinois Association of Municipal Management Assistants and the Illinois City/County Management Association.
"I'd like to thank everybody for this opportunity," Maltas said at last week's Board of Trustees meeting. "I'm two months shy of three years here and I've enjoyed it a great deal."
Prior to her work with the Village of Northbrook, Kendal was employed with the Village of Deerfield and worked as the Communications Projects Manager with the University School of Milwaukee in Wisconsin. Kendal will be assisting the Village Manager and Assistant Village Manager on a variety of projects and initiatives. She has been directly involved in the successful implementation of the Village’s electrical aggregation program and various operational initiatives including web-streaming of Board meetings, the redesign of the Village’s website and the drafting of the Village’s 5 Year Capital Improvement Plan.
