Northbrook Artists To Open Their Studios Sunday

Get a behind-the-scenes look at how some of Northbrook's finest local artists work at the seventh annual Open Studio Tour.

The village of Northbrook becomes an intimate museum this Sunday, when six local artists open their doors to the public during the 7th Annual Open Studio Tour.

Five other artists will also display their work at Village Green Center and at the Historical Society, while Sunset Foods hosts the up and coming talent with a show of works by seven young artists.

Presented by the Northbrook Arts Commission, the event lasts from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and includes a performance by students of Special Gifts Theatre from 2 to 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Foods. Find studio location maps at Village Hall, the Northbrook Public Library, Sunset Foods and other local businesses.

This year's artists include Jerry Block, Judy Bloom, Allen Cohen, Janet Cordovi, Susan Dienhart, Linda Lee Goldman, Bonnie Siegel, Melly Schwartz and Marge White. The family of artist Roda Patel, who passed away in August, will also open their home to visitors in her memory.

So great to see such a lively local arts scene in Northbrook! I especially like Marge White's featured piece. Looks like a beautiful escape from the chilly winter months we're in for shortly.

The colors are beautiful, I agree. I went to the Open Studios Tour last year and it was a great experience. It's amazing to see all that artwork on display inside the artist's home, not to mention get to ask them all the questions you want!
