Police Report Spate of Coyote Attacks on Dogs

A pair of coyotes have attacked several dogs in the past few weeks, according to Northbrook police, and the village is advising residents to take special precautions.

The coyote attacks have generally occurred in the late evening hours and have taken place both on the street and in fenced-in backyards, according to a press release from the village. Coyotes are capable of burrowing under fences, the village reports.

Residents are cautioned to keep cats and dogs indoors and to let them out only on a leash, under direct supervision, while police take action to remove the animals.
