Glenbrook North's star running back, Grant Rushing, ran four touchdowns and threw a pass for a fifth, to earn the Spartans a Central Suburban North conference victory over Highland Park, 48 to 28, the Northbrook Star reports.
“He’s a big, strong running back, who’s very hard to bring down,” Highland Park coach Hal Chiodo told the Northbrook Star about Rushing. “He’s certainly first team all-state in my opinion.”
The Highland Park Giants scored 21 points in the game's fourth quarter, which GBN never managed to answer, according to CSL Insider.
"I’ve never been in a game with a comeback like that, and just an all-around fight like that," Rushing told the CSL Insider. "Especially for the conference championship, it’s a perfect game. This is huge, and as I say every week, I couldn’t be more proud of my boys of the way we’ve bounced back (after last season). To come out on top like this is just unreal. I can’t believe this.
