Glenbrook North senior, Grant Rushing, broke the school's 346 yard running record within a season, set by James Velissaris in 2001, during Friday night's game against the Niles North Vikings, the Sun-Times reports.

The Spartand also beat the Vikings 56 to 17.

“Grant is one of the best athletes to come through these halls,” Spartan varsity head coach Bob Pieper told the Sun-Times. “I knew that he was on a mission to have a good senior season and I could tell by his offseason workout that he was going to be somebody to be reckoned with.”

Rushing ran three touchdowns from 35, 44 and 3 yards, CSL Insider reports

“I’m just honored and blessed,” Rushing told CSL Insider. “I’m proud of my team and proud of the way we came together. I couldn’t be happier.”
