What's Your Favorite Grocery Store?

Vote for your favorite in our weekly Readers' Choice series.

Whether you're out to get just the staples or make toast out of that regular weekly list, grocery stores are of course the place to go.

That’s why Patch wants to know: what's your favorite grocery store?

Make sure to vote in the poll below and leave a review in our business directory of your favorite food store, so that others can learn from your vast knowledge, benefit from your experience and heed any warnings you might offer. Feel free to also comment on why your choice is the best.

Here are this week's nominees:

Trader Joe's, 127 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook.

Sunset Foods, 1127 Church St., Northbrook.

Whole Foods Market, 840 Willow Rd., Northbrook.

Dominick's Finer Foods, 4125 Dundee Rd., Northbrook.

Garden Fresh Market, 275 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook.

Jewel-Osco, 2775 Pfingsten Rd., Northbrook.

Did we miss your market? Let us know in the comments or share with us on Facebook. Don't forget to check back on Friday at noon, when we'll announce the winner.

Editor's Note: Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Comments on this article will be used as a tie breaker if needed. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. Voting ends at 9 a.m. Friday.

You missed Fresh Farms International at Milwaukee and Dundee in Wheeling. Great deli! Low prices! And a tremendous selection of international foods! What you might spend on extra gas, you'll more than make up for with the low prices on fresh produce, eastern European specialties, and variety of other imported foods!

Hi Dave, Thanks for the comment. It looks like Fresh Farms is just over the border in Wheeling. It sounds great, though. I'll check it out next time I'm in the area.

Amazed by the love for Sunset. Most overpriced grocery store i have ever been in. How about lower prices and let people put their own groceries on the checkout belt. I think we are capable.

I agree with jmw2323. I like Sunset but cannot shop there to feed my family. It is WAY to expensive. You can get quality food at the other stores in town for a much lower price. Garden Fresh for produce and Jewel for the staples.

When I'm toting 2 (or sometimes 3) kids, I'm glad the carts are pretty clean, there are no lines at the checkout and someone will help me with my bags. In return, I'm willing to pay a little more. Sunset is also a great community citizen and I try to support local businesses who give back.

I'm all for supporting local businesses but it's just two expensive. If I didn't have two teenage boys who eat a ton I wold shop there more. I agree that sunset is a great community citizen. They are always willing to give and often times go above and beyond. I do shop there very occasionally. I just need to stretch my dollar a little further.
