Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Your Local Editor Says Goodbye... and Thank You!

Northbrook Patch's local editor will be moving on to become local editor of Evanston this week. In this letter, she expresses her gratitude toward the people she met and worked with, and especially to her readers.

Dear Northbrook Patch readers,

As of today, I am officially moving over to become editor of Evanston Patch. I say that with excitement at a new challenge but also with regret, since I have truly enjoyed my time in Northbrook.

From the hospitality in the checkout line at Sunset Foods to the friendly faces at the Starbucks on Cherry Lane, it’s the people I’ve met who made this job so much fun.

Writing stories, I got to learn about such inspiring individuals as Scott Crane, Dan Jariabka, Roda Patel, Collin Wehr and Lacey Horwitch, among many others. I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who took the time to talk to me—and especially to those folks who fielded my calls on a regular basis.

Working with freelance reporters, I had the pleasure of learning from some very talented writers, including Northbrook’s own Elizabeth Manaster, Dan Santaromita, Debby Shulman, Liz Abrams, Glenn Wall, Britni Berg and Joanna Brown. I thank these writers for bringing great ideas, original style and local expertise.

Finally, I want to thank the most important contingent of people I’ve gotten to know: you, the readers. Thank you for passing along the stories we publish, signing up for our daily newsletter, liking us on Facebook and sharing your feedback via e-mail or in person.

As we search for a permanent replacement at Northbrook Patch, Patch associate editor Emily Stone will oversee the site. In the interim, please feel free to reach out to her with questions, concerns and, of course, news tips via e-mail at emily.stone@patch.com.

Thanks again for reading, and for sharing your stories with me. Drop me a line any time at jenniferf@patch.com.

Sincerely,

Jenny Fisher

Will miss you Jenny! You have always been so responsive and have tried to be helpful and supportive in whatever way you could. Really appreciated it-especailly during my less than easy "initiation" into blogging! I wish you the best in your new endeavor in Evanston.
