Santorum in Niles on Friday
Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum is coming to Niles on Friday.
During last night's fundraiser for William J. Kelly, who is running for Chicago's 42nd Ward GOP committeeman, I spoke with Jon Zahm, who confirmed to me that the former Pennsylvania senator will hold a rally at Northridge Preparatory School this Friday night from 7pm to 9pm.
Zahm is Santorum's Illinois state director.
Santorum has Illinois roots; he graduated from Carmel High School in Mundelein in 1978 while his father worked as a psychologist at Great Lakes Naval Training Center. Santorum attended the Catholic high school for only his senior year.
According to a Chicago Tribune/WGN-TV poll released on Saturday, Santorum is statistically tied with Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts.
Northridge is at 8320 Ballard Rd, just east of Cumberland.
