NORTHBROOK, IL. – August 6, 2013–   Applications for the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Northbrook program, an eight session class that offers a comprehensive, firsthand look at the inner workings of Northbrook, are now being accepted.   The program features presentations from top civic, business and government officials, along with private tours of some of the Village’s landmark businesses and community resources.  The eight session program begins on September 13th and concludes on April 11, 2014.

The broad curriculum includes informative sessions on the business climate, municipal government, local and regional transportation issues, education, life safety issues and community amenities and social services.  Class participants not only learn more about their civic responsibilities from informative presentations by local experts, they also make important and lasting contacts with business and civic leaders.  Tours of prominent businesses are also on the agenda, including Underwriters Laboratories, Bernhard Woodwork, and Highland Baking.    Classes are held at different Northbrook locations each month, including the Northbrook Village Hall, Glenbrook North High School, and Glenbrook Hospital.
