Glenbrook North Grad Night Celebration Seeks Donations, Volunteers
The Glenbrook North High School Grad Night Steering Committee is deep into the final planning stages for the annual senior class graduation party, to be held at the school on the night of Sunday, June 1, 2014. To ensure a safe, fun-filled evening for all the students, the committee is seeking volunteers to help on the night of the party, as well as donations from individuals and local businesses.
The annual Grad Night event provides graduating seniors with an exciting, secure, alcohol-free/drug-free overnight party to celebrate their achievements as a group. Each year, more than 95 percent of the graduating class – over 500 students -- participates in the Grad Night festivities, which include food, beverages, dancing, sports, door prizes, and more. Students check in between 11:00 and 11:30pm and are required to stay at the party until 5:00am the following morning. Parent volunteers are needed to fill a variety of positions for four- hour shifts throughout the evening.
“Most of parent volunteers really enjoy the experience,” noted Steve Isaacson, Grad Night event chair. “This is a very special night in their children’s lives, and volunteering gives parents the opportunity to be part of all the excitement.”

In addition, Grad Night relies on the support of donations from local businesses and others. Donations of prizes, food, services, and other tangible goods are welcome as well as cash donations. Businesses that donate to Grad Night will be publicly recognized during and after the event. Parents may also support Grad Night by purchasing “Grad Cards”, which deliver your personal congratulations to a designated senior in return for a $5.00 donation.
