North Suburban Y Welcomes New Staff to Serve Community

With an ever-growing member population and an expanding range of services, the North Suburban YMCA has hired several new staff to help coordinate and communicate information about Y activities. These new hires bring extensive experience and fresh ideas to the Y, which serves twelve communities from its newly renovated facility in Northbrook.

Elesha Martin has joined the Y as Administrative Coordinator/Office Manager, managing communications and administrative systems linking the various administrative, development, and program-related Y departments. She will be providing stewardship in the development department and working closely with Executive Director/CEO Howard Schultz and Director of Development Barb Flanagin. She comes to the Y with fourteen years of experience in the administrative/management field, particularly in government, non-profit, and education settings.

Adam Halon is the Y’s new Graphic Designer/Marketing Director. He brings a passion for design to this new position, with responsibility for a multitude of promotional materials used in the Y’s many events as well as advertising and informational publications. He has previously worked as a designer in the hospitality/entertainment industry and also taught graphic design at Purdue University – Calumet.

Shannon Parry has taken on the role of Associate Director of Performing Arts. A recent graduate of Illinois State University, she has several years of experience in both dance performance and instruction. At the Y’s North Suburban School of Dance, she will work with Director Joni Goldstein to manage the school’s programs, communicate with parents, supervise faculty, and produce the annual dance recital. She will also assist with the Y’s H.A.W.K.S. dance program for individuals with special needs.

“We are very excited to have these talented individuals join us at the Y,” noted Howard Schultz, NSYMCA Executive Director/CEO. “There’s always something new happening here, and we have a great team in place to keep our members fully informed about all we have to offer.”
