REALITY Theatre Invites Teens to Join Troupe

Teen actors and performers in grades 8 – 12 are invited to an open rehearsal of REALITY Theatre on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at OMNI Youth Services, 1111 W. Lake Cook Road, Buffalo Grove.

REALITY Theatre, a youth leadership program of OMNI Youth Services, is an ensemble of teens presenting their own stories through the medium of theatre.  Representing high schools throughout the Northwest suburbs, REALITY combines the power of creative drama with the impact of positive peer-to-peer communication.  REALITY gives teens an opportunity to develop their creative voice through an exploration of various performance styles.  They interact and collaborate to devise performance pieces reflecting the things that matter to teens, from the humorous to the heartfelt.  REALITY performs for middle, junior high and high schools; Snowball events; and conferences. 

At the open rehearsal, teens will participate in improv scenes, play theatre games, meet current troupe members and the artistic staff, and learn all about REALITY Theatre.  All high school students are invited.  No prior performance experience is required.  Eighth graders are encouraged to attend and to make a connection with REALITY that will continue throughout their freshman year.  Parents are invited to attend an informational meeting during the rehearsal at either 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. OR 5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
