The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem Kicks off the 42nd Annual Hospitals' Gala

On Wednesday, March 18, an intimate group of 50 gathered at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) Evanston Hospital to help kick-off The Auxiliary of NorthShore’s 42nd annual Hospitals’ Gala: “Simply Chicago.” The kick-off event served as an opportunity for guests to experience the impact of their fundraising by touring Grainger Center for Simulation and Innovation (GCSI), this year’s Gala beneficiary. Guests of the kick-off were welcomed by Ernest Wang, MD, Medical Director; Michael Ujiki, MD, Surgical Director; and Gala Chairs, Brenda Kuo and Jill Muldoon, before touring the state-of-the-art, 13,000 square foot facility at NorthShore Evanston Hospital. During the tour, Drs. Wang and Ujiki shared how the establishment of GCSI affirms NorthShore’s position as a top-ranked teaching hospital as it offers practitioners access to the latest tools and technologies within a controlled setting. They also shared how funds from this year’s Gala will support training initiatives within GCSI aimed to improve communication between the patient and the healthcare team. These initiatives will enhance the patient experience and ensure superior outcomes, furthering NorthShore’s mission to “preserve and improve human life.”

In addition to learning more about the Gala beneficiary, guests had an opportunity to hear more about this year’s highly anticipated event. Taking place on Saturday, June 14 at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers, the Hospitals’ Gala will celebrate all things Chicago. Guests of the Gala will enjoy sensational live and silent auctions, dancing to the sound of TVK Orchestra, a special performance by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and much more.
