A Shermerfest Photo Gallery

Families, classic car lovers gathered on the Village Green for the 32nd annual Shermerfest celebration of local history.

A capuchin monkey named Mindy was the hit of this year's Shermerfest, the 32nd annual celebration of local history in Northbrook. Kids and parents alike stopped to snap photos--along with Northbrook Patch photographer Philip Downie, who also captured face painting, a ceremony recognizing longtime historical society member Don Hintz and a classic car show. Threatening skies in the morning didn't stop Northbrook residents, who flocked to the Village Green to play bocce, bid in a silent auction and enjoy the yearly favorite lunch of split pea soup with ham.
