Blood Drive in Northbrook This Weekend

Community service event to be sponsored by The Rotary Club of Northbrook, the Northbrook Women's Club and Sunset Foods .

Hoping to increase the local blood supply, residents are organizing a blood drive in Northbrook this weekend.

The Rotary Club of Northbrook, the Northbrook Women’s Club and Sunset Foods are sponsoring the drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27.

It will be held at Sunset Foods, 1127 Church Street, Northbrook.

“It’s an annual event that we’ve done,” said Jay Glaubinger, chairman of community services for the Rotary. “We feel it’s a valuable service for the community.”

LifeSource, Chicagoland’s blood center, will conduct the blood drive. Each year LifeSource relies on the generosity of more than 500,000 life-saving donors to treat and save lives of local area patients.

If you’d like to donate, be sure to bring an ID – either a driver’s license, a military ID or an employee badge with a picture, with you Saturday.
