Dine Out for a Good Cause

Zapatista in Northbrook to donate part of Monday's proceeds to benefit the Northfield Township Food Pantry.

This is not a revolutionary idea but it's a two-fer few can resist.

Zapatista Restaurant - named in honor of that great Mexican hero who fought for land reform - will serve up its cuisine as usual Monday. But here's the twist - a portion of all sales will go to the Northfield Township Food Pantry.

The restaurant will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; the address is 992 Willow Rd. in Northbrook's Willow Festival Shopping Center near Willow and Waukegan Roads.

Reservations can be made at  www.opentable.com or by calling Zapatista at 847-559-0939.

More than 700 local households are eligible to visit the Pantry each month to receive perishable and non-perishable food items and grocery store cards. The Pantry is stocked entirely by the generosity of individuals, businesses, civic groups and the faith community.
