Why Go:
Enjoy a fall afternoon in the park with an arts and craft show, hayride, bonfire and storyteller, pumpkin activities and live music at the park districts third annual Autumnfest. New this year is the Talent Showdown, with a winner to be crowned at Autumnfest. Finalists include father and son singing duo George and Andrew Christopoulos; Roger Shen, a 12-year-old pianist who has performed at Carnegie Hall; and 11-year-old singer Liza Birmbaum. Visitors can vote to choose the winner, who will receive $250 and a trophy. The performances and voting are scheduled from 5-5:20pm.

Why Go: The accomplished pianist, who has played in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chamber Music Series and regularly performs with the Lake Forest Symphony and the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, treats listeners to works by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Liszt.
