Northbrook Dog Park Under Construction

The park district expects to complete the dog park by later this fall.

The Northbrook Park District is building a dog park at 2490 Dundee Rd., just west of the Northbrook Post Office, in response to growing interest in the community, as expressed in surveys and public meetings.

The park district expects to complete the new destination by later this fall.

Northbrook residents have identified a dog park as an unmet need in town and asked for a place where dogs could play off-leash and socialize with other dogs.

Almost 100 residents attended a public input meeting in August of 2012 to review design concepts for a dog park. The site plan for the dog park includes the following elements:

  • Area for large dogs (2 acres)
  • Area for small dogs (.5 acre)
  • Fence, shelter and dog wash
  • Parking for 37 cars
  • Playground
