Northbrook Outdoor Ice Rinks Now Open

The two Northbrook Park District outdoor ice rinks are open for the first time this winter for skating. One is at Meadowhill Park and the other is behind Village Hall. Sled hills are open at Wood Oaks Green park and Techny Prairie when weather allows.

Northbrook Park District workers have been preparing and inspecting the ice rinks for more than a week, and the outdoor ice is now ready for skaters. The two rinks are:

  • Tower Rink, 1225 Cedar Lane, behind the Northbrook Village Hall
  • Meadowhill Park Rink, 1479 Maple Avenue, by Northbrook Junior High School

Both rinks are lit at night and open until 9:00 p.m. Sled hills and ice rinks are only open when weather allows, so check the park district website before visiting.

Rental skates are available at the Northbrook Sports Center, 1730 Pfingsten Road, for $8/day. Call 847-291-2993 for availability. Hockey is allowed at the Meadowhill Park Rink.
