Patch Picks for Father's Day

Let Dad set the agenda for Father's Day weekend.

Make your Father's Day celebration a necktie-free zone this year. Honor your favorite guy(s) with time to play at one of these hot spots.

Canoe at the Chicago Botanic Garden

See the garden from a different angle when you canoe the Chicago River on Father's Day. An aquatic biologist will cruise with you to explain what you’re seeing and what the Chicago Botanic Garden is doing to restore the area. Best of all: no canoe experience is necessary. Find more information and register in advance online.

Play 18 at Sportsman’s Country Club

Reserve Dad’s tee time at Sportsman’s Country Club now: With a paid round, Dad will receive a complimentary golf car rental on Father's Day weekend, Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19. The carts at Sportsman’s now offer touch screen GPS systems that show golfers a full graphic display of each hole on the Classic 18 Course and accurate distances as the cart moves through the course. Dad and Grandad will geek out, as the in-cart technology also provides tee shots distances, scorecard data, pin placement management, two-way messaging and pace of play reporting.
