According to the 2009 Community Interest and Opinion Survey, almost one-third of Northbrook residents want a dog park, where people and their pets can socialize and dogs can play off-leash in a safe, containedarea. During Master Plan meetings in the spring of 2011, residents also suggested a dog park as one of theamenities to consider for future District development.

The District has signed an easement agreement with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) that allows the use of its driveway as an entrance to the park, and the District plans to build a parking lot for visitors. Operations and procedures for the dog park have not been finalized, but use will be fee-based, with lower fees for residents than non-residents.

After the Public Input Meeting, the Park District will post design concepts online from August 16-27 with a linkfor residents to share their comments. Residents who have questions about the proposed park but cannotattend the meeting can send an email to: comm@nbparks.org.
