Ron Bernardi Shares His Youthful Secret

Ron Bernardi, Northbrook's man about town, celebrated his 70th birthday at Sunset Foods on Thursday. It was the party of the century. 

There was a line of people at the store, eager to greet the birthday boy, and Patch got a hold of him for a minute to ask the most important question I could think of: What's your secret to reaching 70 years?


"The secret to 70 years is a mitzvot a day," he said. "A kind word, a listening ear, focus on others and you'll be a smiling person like Ron Bernardi."

Dale Duda from the Northbrook's farmers market was at the party, and gushed a bit about Bernardi's impact on the community. 

"I rue the day that Ron retires," she said. "If you need something, you call Ron. It's always been that way."
