Techny Road Paving Schedule

The south side of Techny Rd. from just west of Second St. to just west of the / exit near Birch Rd. is scheduled to be paved this week. Below is a schedule of the project, weather permitting, as released by the Village of Northbrook. 

• Tuesday, Sept. 4: Remove access ramps from residential driveways located on the south side of Techny Rd.
  • Residents located on the south side of Techny Rd. that have driveways connected directly to Techny Rd. are asked to park their cars on a nearby side street prior to 7:00 a.m. on Sept. 4. After 6:00 p.m., residents can park their cars on Techny again.
• Wednesday, Sept. 5:Pave the south side of Techny Rd. from just west of Second St. to just west of the YMCA/Covenant Church exit near Birch Rd. 
  • Residents located on the south side of Techny that have driveways connect directly to Techny are asked to park their cars on a nearby side street prior to 7:00 a.m. each day of construction. After 6:00 p.m. residents can park their cars on Techny via access from Glendale Ave. or Greenview Rd.
  • Residents that live on Cargill Dr. are asked to park their cars on a nearby side street prior to 7:00 a.m. each day of construction. After 6:00 p.m., residents who live on Cargill Dr. will have access to their home by traveling south by traveling south on Glendale Ave. and turning west onto Techny Rd. to Cargill Dr.
  • Residents that live on Glendale Ave., Butternut Ln. and Evert Ct. should use Glendale Ave. for access and egress to Techny Rd. Please note that some time during the paving operations, access and egress to Techny may be temporarily closed for up to 15 minutes in order to place and compact the asphalt across Glendale.
  • Residents that live on Mallard Dr. should use Greenview Rd. for access and egresss to Techny. Please note that some time during the paving operations, access and egress to Techny may be temporarily closed for up to 15 minutes in order to place and compact the asphalt across Greenview.
  • Residents that live on Mayapple Ln. and in Covenant Village must use Foxglove Dr. for access and egress to Techny. Please note that at some point during the paving operations, access and egress to Techny Rd. may be temporarily closed for up to 15 minutes in order to place and compact the asphalt across Foxglove.
  • YMCA/Covenant Church members should use the current entrance for both access and egress until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7.
