Three Hospitalized In Willow Road Car Accident

Three People Hospitalized In Northbrook Car Accident 

On Friday, Jan. 25, around 8:00 p.m., fire crews responded to Greenwood Rd. and Willow Rd. for a two vehicle accident. Three patients were treated and transported to Glenbrook Hospital. All patients appeared to have non-life threatening injuries and the accident was under investigation by Northbrook Police.

New Police Officer Sworn In

The Northbrook Police Department swore in a new officer, Brad Gutwillig on Friday, Feb. 1. Brad comes to Northbrook after working as an officer with the South Bend, Indiana Police Department. Gutwillig grew up in Northbrook and graduated from Glenbrook North. Gutwillig received his Bachelor’s Degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Lake Cook Road Construction 

On Thursday, Jan. 31, Northbrook Village President Sandy Frum and staff, along with Northbrook Chamber of Commerce and Northbrook Court representatives attended a meeting for businesses and residents impacted by the Cook County’s planned reconstruction of the intersection of Lake Cook Road (from Deer Lake Road to Ellendale Road) and Waukegan Road (from the Eden’s Spur to the north of Lake-Cook Road) corridors.

The construction is scheduled to begin in April and continue through the end of October 2013. Construction work is scheduled to include pavement removal and replacement, the addition of lanes and dual left turn lanes at the intersection of Lake Cook Rd. and Waukegan Rd. Fire Department Responds to Broken Water Pipe in Vacant Warehouse

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, the fire department responded to the 200 block of Melvin Dr. for a fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, crews found a broken domestic and sprinkler pipe in an unheated portion of the vacant warehouse. Crews shut down both the domestic and fire protection water supply until repairs can be made to the system.

Residents and Property Manages are reminded to maintain adequate heat in their buildings to prevent frozen pipes.
