Daryl Dyer and family have lived in the same house on the 2800 block of Beckwith Ct. for almost 40 years, most of which the master gardner has spent chipping away at a backyard garden that today is a vibrant, leafy work of art.
In terms of shape and size, Dyer's backyard has fluctuated a bit as pets have come and gone, children's play areas outgrown, the installation of fences and so on.
The gardner was modest about her work, almost dissapointed that guests were visiting in autumn.
"This is the end of all the color," she said. But to the casual observer, it might be hard to imagine a prettier assortment of flowers and decorations.
Perhaps we'll have to visit again in the spring to see what she means.
