If you are looking for something special and fun to do Labor Day Weekend look no further than an outing to Art Fair on the Square in nearby Lake Forest, IL.
Historic Market Square will come alive with creative energy as the Deer Path Art League hosts its 58th annual Art Fair on the Square. This year 180-juried artists from 24 states will descend on Market Square to exhibit and sell their original work. Exhibited artwork includes oil and acrylic painting, watercolor and pastel, sculpture, glass, jewelry, mixed media, fiber, digital art, photography and more. A partial listing of the 2012 exhibiting artists includes Mark McMahon, Eugenia Meltzer, Denise Houck, Gary Stretar, Kangsheng Liu, Darren Kensington, Michael Brown, Mary Lou Schwall-Komie, Julie Whitehead Holdsworth, Martha Richter, Jolan Horen, Jacqui Blatchford, Wendy Chaney, Sheila Brandon, Ben Jurevicius, Lars-Birger Sponberg, David Dallison and Rudolph De Ram.
Ranked in the Top 100 of national outdoor-juried fine art shows, Art Fair on the Square consistently delivers a quality event attracting visitors from near and far. This year’s specialty booths include “Creation Station” an interactive art tent for young families and children sponsored by Montessori School of Lake Forest and the “Young Artists” art court, sponsored by Make it Better. Teachers from the Deer Path Art League will provide art technique demonstrations throughout the two-day event at the Art League Information Tent as well as at individual artist booths. Food and refreshments and the tranquil beauty of Lake Forest rounds out the Art Fair on the Square inspired experience!
