Fall Out Boy to Headline Chicago Riot Fiest

The band was founded in 2001 by North Shore residents.

Fall Out Boy, a popular rock band founded in Wilmette in 2001 (Bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz is from Wilmette and guitarist Joe Trohman is from Winnetka, according to a recent article in the Winnetka Talk) will be returning to the area to headline Riot Fest on Sept. 13.

Riot Fest will also feature The Replacements, Blink-182, the Pixies and Blondie, along with dozens of other bands. Tickets to the event are available here.

The band's 2005 album, From Under the Cork Tree, sold more than 2.7 million copies in the U.S. and had two top ten singles, "Sugar We're Goin' Down" and "Dance, Dance."

The band took a hiatus in 2009, but reunited in February of 2013.
