Downtown Ace Installs Pinewood Derby Track

Cub scouts and other racers are invited to test their wheels on the 35-foot, two-lane track.

Ace Hardware in downtown Northbrook, at 1941 Cherry Ln., has set up a 35 foot, aluminum, two-lane race track for Pinewood Derby cars. Cub Scouts and other racers are invited in to test out their cars on Ace's track.

The store has an electronic race timer, digital scale and a work space for racers to come in and prep their cars. Derbies run throughout January, February and March at various locations around the North Shore and the store will keep the track up through mid-March.

Scout dens are welcome to call the store and book an evening to hold a den meeting. Call us at (847) 272-8262 to book an activity night.

The store also carries a full line of Pinecar accessories, tools, paints, decals, adhesives, graphite. Even books and videos on building the fastest cars in town.
