Finnatic Tan Offers Safe Bronze Out of West Northbrook

The home-based, spray tan business is run by Jodi Finn, a former University of Arizona theater student.

Chicago weather makes it hard to maintain a decent tan for half the year, and tanning beds' direct exposure to UV light can be dangerous for people with sensitive skin or a predisposition to skin cancer.

Fortunately, Northbrook's Jodi Finn offers a safe alternative to the sun with her home-based, spray tan business, Finnatic Tan.

"It's simple, it takes about 10 minutes and there's no orange," Finn said. "I promise everyone, I just make everyone look natural."

Finn has had the business for about a year, after she was introduced to spray tanning by a friend in Orland Park.

"I make people feel happy," she said. "I've had cancer patients and pregnant women get tans, whose doctors looked at the product's ingredients to make sure it's okay."

Finn charges $30 for a full body treatment at her home, or about $40 for a spray in her mobile tanning tent, which she can bring to clients' homes.

She says tans last about a week and don't have an odor. Rather, the product she uses has a raspberry and almond fragrance.
