 recently announced that they have been chosen as a semi-finalist in Tire Review Magazine’s “Top Shop” Competition.  If chosen as the winner, Duxler will be the first Chicago-area auto care facility to win the prestigious award and honor.  in Northbrook is offering guests an opportunity to showcase their creativity during the restaurant's annual art contest. Now through Oct. 19, guests can submit their work to Pinstripes and on Nov. 4 at 10:00 a.m. the artwork will be revealed and judged. All entrants will win a $10 gift certificate to Pinstripes. The first, second and third place winners will also be rewarded and their artwork will be displayed at Pinstripes through the year.

 announces their fall/winter holiday recipe contest. Whether a generations old family recipe or a recent culinary invention, any recipe is eligible for the contest. The winner will receive a private consultation with one of their chefs to create a custom designed menu for the winner and 7 friends. For contest rules click here.  

 recently launched a new website.  The site was designed based on feedback from staff, students, parents and the community. The new website was built in-house and features interactive calendars, scrolling news and features, social media and a navigation design based on the district's philosophy of the three A's: Academics, Activities and Athletics.  recently rolled out five new, low calorie menu items as part of their “New Adventure” menu featuring dishes influenced by flavors from around the world. The items include salads, salmon, grilled chicken and other specialties. For more information visit their website www.cpk.com.

The Northbrook Symphony will be performing  featuring Northbrook’s New Tradition Chorus on Sunday, Sept. 9th at Watson Auditorium at Glenbrook South High School. The North Shore Senior Center is offering a six week educational series “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” on Tuesday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sept. 18 through Oct. 30. The class will feature interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming to help learn how to reduce stress and increase the ability to make difficult decisions.  is offering a household hazardous waste drop off recycling event on Thursday, Sept 20 and Friday, Sept 21 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 1928 Lehigh Avenue.
