Mariano’s is opening its first North Shore store Tuesday morning at 1822 Willow Rd. in Northfield. Doors open at 6 a.m.
It’s the second Mariano’s to open in a former Dominick’s space after its parent company bought 11 Dominick’s locations in the Chicago area after Dominick’s withdrew from the market late last year. The first one was in Park Ridge, the company said.
The store features a smoothie bar, Italian coffee and gelato shop, live piano music and free wifi.

Another Mariano’s is slated for Northbrook at the NorthShore 770 development at the corner of Skokie Boulevard and Dundee Road.
The company is also working on a Glenview store at Golf and Waukegan.
