Now We Know: The Hair Salons You Trust

Last week, we asked you to tell us who you trust when it comes to local hair salons in Northbrook. Readers sounded off in our directory of local businesses, posted reviews on Facebook and let us know in the comments.

"Nice people work here under the leadership of 'the boss,'" Tom Klein wrote of . "I highly recommend this place. I will wait weeks if I have to see the talented Oscar--and for ladies, nothing better but the best, Debbie."  

Laurie Schnittmann, a regular at , gushed over her hair cutters. "I've been a client of both Anna and Laura (the owners) for over 10 years, and I would never go any where else," she wrote. "Anna does a fantastic job on my hair -- coloring and cutting -- and I always get compliments."

"I have gone to L'Oran Salon since the day it opened," Debbie Morrison chimed in. "Anna cuts my hair and Laura does my mani/pedis. Love them both! Always getting compliments on my hair color. Everyone there goes above and beyond to make sure every appointment is pleasurable."

Beth Congbalay described Carolyn Lorraine Salon as a place where the stylists "want you to love your hair," while Kathryn said she still drives from Wisconsin for appointments at the salon. 

"You mean there are other salons in Northbrook? Why?" she wrote. "Once you've had a mani-pedi with Laura, you'll be spoiled for life. Every service I've had there (practically everything in the last 10+ years) has been fabulous."

Over on Facebook, several people voiced their support for , a salon in Willow Festival.

"My daughter and I just started going there in August and we love it there!" wrote Erika Cole Herrera. "Everyone is so nice and I feel so pampered."

"Best salon I've ever been to!" posted Michelle Waters-Walsh. "And that's why I'm bringing in my mom before her 50th Wedding Anniversary! I want to take Dad back to the day he married his beautiful bride & remind mom to invest in herself! She raised 5 rowdy, Irish kids so I think she's earned it!"
