Proposed Walmart Public Hearings Set for August

The first public hearing will be held by the Northbrook Plan Commission on Tuesday, August 20, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Village Hall.

The schedule for the public hearing process for the proposed 151,000 square foot Walmart Supercenter at 1000 Skokie Blvd. has been set. The first public hearing will be held by the Northbrook Plan Commission on Tuesday, August 20, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Village Hall, 1225 Cedar Lane.

Given the scope of the project, the August 20 hearing will include a staff description of the proposed development and the applicant’s presentation of the proposal.

Since it is expected that these presentations will take several hours to complete, public testimony will commence at the second meeting of the Public Hearing on Monday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Glenbrook North High School Sheely Center for the Performing Arts, 2300 Shermer Road, Northbrook.

The second meeting of the Public Hearing was scheduled at this location to accommodate the members of the public that wish to participate at the meeting.

If needed, a third meeting of the Public Hearing is tentatively scheduled for Monday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. at GBN.

Written public comments will also be part of the public record and be distributed to the Plan Commission. Written comments may be submitted at any time prior to September 9, via mail to: Northbrook Plan Commission, 1225 Cedar Lane, Northbrook, IL 60062 or email at 1000Skokie@northbrook.il.us.

The Aug. 20 meeting will be streamed live and archived at www.northbrook.il.us and cablecast live and replayed on NCTV- Northbrook Cable Channel 17 at 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21 and Sunday Aug. 25.

The second meeting of the Public Hearing on Monday, Sept. 9 will be available on line at www.northbrook.il.us by 7:00 p.m., Sept. 10 and replayed on NCTV on Thursday, Sept. 12 and Saturday, Sept. 14 at 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
