Pumpkin Decorating at Northbrook Farmers Market Closing Day

Children are welcome to pick out and paint a free pumpkin on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

The Northbrook Farmers Market season is drawing to a close which means it's time for the fourth annual Li'l Pumpkin Day on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

Children are welcome to come pick a free locally grown pumpkin, wash it, then decorate it. The pumpkins are being donated by Geneva Lakes Produce; Bath Fitters, Inc. will help the children wash them and staff of Mustard Seed Nursery School and Northbrook Community Nursery School will provide supplies and help kids with decorating.Pumpkins for decorating will be available from 9:30  a.m. to 12:30 p.m., or while supplies last.

Children of all ages who wear a costume to the market will receive an early Halloween treat at the Hospitality Booth. When was the last time you bought something for 50 cents? Hot chocolate with whipped cream will be available for 50 cents a cup.

Of course, a cornucopia of fall harvest foods, including apples, gourds, squashes, pumpkins and much more will be available. The market is open rain or shine 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays, through Oct. 10, at our new location at Cherry & Western.
