Saks' OFF 5th Outlet Coming to Northbrook

Discount shop of upscale retailer expects to hire 40 when it opens at the Village Square center.

Lovers of name-brand clothing at off-brand prices will soon have another option to choose from in Northbrook.

A Saks Fifth Avenue is scheduled to open one of its OFF 5th outlet stores in November at the Village Square shopping center on Skokie Boulevard, according to a release from Mid-America Asset Management Inc. 

The new store will occupy 25,900 square feet of space in the shopping center and is expected to employ 40 to 50 people, according to Robert Wallstrom, president of the upscale retailer's discount sibling.

“We look forward to contributing to employment growth in the Northbrook area,” he said in the release.

Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th stores offer designer clothing and accessories for men, women and children as well as home goods at 40-70 percent off their original prices, according to the store’s website.

Others Saks OFF 5th stores in Illinois are located at the Woodfield Green Shopping Center in Schaumburg and at Gurnee Mills in Gurnee.

Northbrook’s OFF 5th will join fellow discount clothing retailers , Loehmann’s and  at the Village Square shopping center, which also houses , and , among other businesses.
