Social Media Welcomes YOU

How Social Media has changed us and become a part of us.

Social media is developing at a pace of 100 miles a minute. Something new is constantly being re-done or introduced. This may bother some people; but take a step back before you judge so harshly. Where would we all be without our smart phone applications, social media sites and new ways of communicating? Have you ever left the house without that trusty smart phone and those handy apps- feels like you walked out naked, right? No matter how much people complain about how involved individuals are becoming, social media has brought such great innovation for not only communicating, but also how we gather and receive daily information.

Social mediaisn’t just about tweeting random thoughts or uploading a picture of your lunch via Instagram, it’s about sharing information with each other. With 50% of theworld’s population under 30 years old, social media is truly becoming a revolution. Even our favorite news channels are spreading their outlets of news to reach every person. We are now being informed by live tweets of breaking news facts. Wikipedia itself has over 15 billion articles with studies showing them to be as accurate as Encyclopedia Britannica. Social media is also a way for consumers to directly communicate to their brand. Companies are constantly checking their social media sites to see what people are saying about their product, and they actually get back to you! I messaged Nike’s twitter account one day, within 15mins I had a reply- how’s that for efficiency? So for those who want to defame social media, stand back and see the big picture. It’s truly changing our world- the way we see, hear and communicate.
