Lozaro's Special Interest Campaign Horrible For Northbrook

Bob Lozaro's March 11th public meeting on the Northbrook Park District for Northbrook residents lacked objectivity, transparency and integrity. Does Northbrook really need that?

I recently attended Bob Lozaro's March 11th public meeting on the Northbrook Park District.  He presented his case for election to the Northbrook Park District Board and sadly made it very clear he is running a Special Interest Campaign backed by the YMCA.  The YMCA's CEO, Howard Schultz, is not a Northbrook resident, yet attended Bob's March 11th meeting to push his YMCA agenda on the residents.  Any Special Interest Campaign is dangerous and bad for Northbrook - how can Bob honestly be objective now?  He can't.

Bob also presented a $30 per month per resident estimate to build a community center.  However, he could not provide any basis for that calculation and seemed to pull it out of the air leaving us in the audience to doubt his integrity or credibility.  The figure is triple of the highest $9/month estimate the Park District considered in its 2012 Community Survey.  You will find that figure at the bottom of page 3.  Again, Bob is dangerously and intentionally misleading the citizens of Northbrook.

Another aspect of his campaign I feel is devaluing voting power and misleading to the residence of Northbrook is educating the voters to cast ONE vote, for him. There are four candidates and a Northbrook resident is entitled to three votes. Suggesting to cast ONE vote is diminishing our American right to vote and power to decide who holds office. Why would a voter only use one third of their power to select their local representatives when they have three to decide upon?

In contrast, I support the honest, transparent, and reliable incumbents Penny Randel, Michael Schyman, and Paul Zima for the Northbrook Park District Board. The three incumbents went through a very thorough review and earned the endorsement of the Northbrook Caucus.  I hope Northbrook residents have better clarity casting a vote for all three incumbents Randel, Schyman, and Zima for the Northbrook Park District Board.
