14U Elite Northbrook-Highwood Braves Shutout Stevenson Behind Smart and Rafferty

The 14U Elite Braves recorded their second victory in this young season on Thursday behind the strong pitching efforts of Thomas Smart and Charlie Rafferty.  Smart and Rafferty were nearly untouchable as the stellar Braves defense gave them all the help they required to seal this game.

Timely hitting from Mitch Schermerhorn was key in this affair as he doubled with men in scoring position to break this one open and put the Braves up with all the runs they would need.  

The Braves have relied on strong pitching from Thomas Smart, Charlie Rafferty, and Kyle Mitter this season to keep them in games.  With two early season injuries to John Clark and Nathaniel Segura, there has been two very potent bats eliminated in the lineup and runs have been a little harder to come by.  

The Braves play on Saturday at the Amercian Legion Field in Northbrook by the Northbrook Junior High at 4 pm.
