The people of Kenya are a beautiful people in a wonderful land. The Masai have lived on these lands for thousands of years and maintain a lifestyle not unlike their ancestors thousands of years before them. While they are valued in their tradition, they face enormous challenge with disease and healthcare because of the lack of adequate water and sanitation. They struggle to survive in many cases.
I have been fortunate to be a part of something very special in this region through the work of Dreamweaver International, a non-profit charity of which I serve as a founding director. Beginning twenty years ago, my mother moved to this area as a missionary and began a journey that has now created a college to teach business and leadership to these people. We are embarking on building a hospital in the area and are providing other humanitarian efforts.
Another component of our care and compassion is the bringing of baseball to the area through an arm of Dreamweaver International called Gear for Goals. I am currenlty serving here till December 9 and look forward to working with a team of osteopathic doctors in providing badly needed medical care and chiropractic care. We are blending the care of the Masai with natural and medical therapies to give them a chance at healthier brighter futures.
