GBN Freshman (A) Cruise in Victory over Maine East

The 17-4 GBN Freshman (A) continued their winning ways Tuesday afternoon in Park Ridge against Maine East.  Leading the attack at the plate was Adam Wagner, Jared Epstein, and Matt Tedeschi, as they all recorded extra base hits.  The entire squad became involved in this game with multiple players recording a multi-hit game in this one-sided affair.  

The pitching duties were covered by Sage Bruhl and Sam Nyren.  Bruhl was perfect through three innings notching 8 strikeouts and Nyren came on in relief in his first outing of the 2012 season.  While Nyren had some early control trouble he settled down and only gave up one run over his two innings.  

The final score of this contest was 23-1.  The Spartans face Maine East again in Northbrook on Thursday at 4:45 P.M.
