GBN Freshman-A Jump Out to Early Lead and Cruise to Win 15-2 Over Maine West

19-5 GBN Freshman A Jump Out to Early Lead and Cruise in Victory over Maine West.

GNB Freshman A jumped out to an early lead on Thursday while playing in front of their home town fans and never looked back in this game.  Much of the early scoring was driven by erratic pitching from the Warrior side and timely hitting by Matt Tedeschi.  Tedeschi got the scoring going in the first inning after the one through three hitter safely reached by either hit by pitch or walks.  Tedeschi bombed a gapper into the left center field area which nearly cleared the fence for a grand slam.  Afterwards the hit fest continued over the ensuing 5 innings leading to an early decision via the mercy rule in IHSA baseball rules.

Pitching duties were handled by Brice Call and Adam Wagner.  Notable play was handed in early by Brice Call in the first inning as he made to spectacular plays from the mound including a line drive catch robbing the hitter of a single up the middle.

The GBN Freshman A square off against cross town rival GBS on Saturday.  Should be a great game.  Game times are 10:30 and 1:00 PM.
