GBN Sophomores Blank Niles North 12-0 Behind Bruhl's Two Hitter

Sage Bruhl pitches masterful two hitter to propel GBN Sophomore team to 11-2 record

The GBN Sophomore team increased their record to 11-2 since this season with a decisive victory over Niles North.  Coasting behind Sage Bruhl's masterful pitching performance, the Spartan bats provided ample pop and timely hitting to end this game in the mercy rule after five innings.  During this season, the starting pitching has been particularly strong for the Spartans and has provided plenty of opportunity for the teams success.

This past Saturday, Freshman Michael Oh delivered a tremendous pitching performance in Evanston only surrendering three runs over seven innings but came out the loser.  In addtion, Jared Epstein, Brice Call, and Danny Ahern have provided outstanding leadership and dominant pitching which has contributed to the sophomore team success.  Expected to return to the lineup, Sophomore David Burnside will likely return to the field next week and is reported to likely assume a relief role with the pitching staff.

Other bright spots for this team during the Spring season have been the solid play of key players coming off the bench including Noah Gaffen, Justin Tucker, Sam Nyren, Ben Pfaff, Michael Gershuny, Mark Jenkins, Shane Weintroub, and Matt Brown.
