GBN Sophomores Down Fremd 8-1 with Ease Saturday in Team Effort

GBN Sophomores down Fremd

After a long week of postponed baseball and cold temperatures the GBN Sophomores returned to action on Saturday facing Fremd in Northbrook.  Coach Izenstark took this opportunity to play the majority of the team in this non league game and there was contribution from virtually every player.

Starting the game for his first time this season, Brandon Labunski threw well and gave up only one unearned run over two innings.  On the offensive side of the field, Harrison Solano got things going in the early going with a double in second and eventually came around to score.  Sam Nyren also contributed to the offense with a bases loaded single down the left field line and played strong defense at first.

Several outstanding shortstop plays were tallied by Sage Bruhl in critical situations as well as helping to save a run in the second inning with a diving stop.  Peter Witty also shored up the middle of the infield with key defensive efforts throughout the game.
